3:1970 PLYMOUTH ROADRUNNER SUPERBIRD.
While most muscle cars were designed for drag racing or at least the traffic light Grand Prix, other notable examples owe their existence to circuit racing. The poly mouth was arguably the most famous. The painted nose and sky-high rear wing were designed to cut through the air and make the car a Frontline runner in NASCAR. It offered three engine options ranging from a 375 horsepower 440 cubic inch(7.2 l)V8 to the famous 426 cubic inch(7.20litre) 'hemi' making 425 horsepower. 5:1949 OLDSMOBILE ROCKET 88.
This car hit the showrooms in 1949. This is deemed as the first in the muscle car evolution. It had a high-tech for the time high compression V8.The performance was hardly earth-shattering by later muscle car standards. The 303 cubic inch (5.20L) rocket V8 produced around 140 horsepower but all that horsepower was more than enough in 1949.
6:1965 SHELBY MUSTANG GT-350.
This is the car that took United States by storm in 1964. In its first two years of production it sold 2 million examples. In spite of its sporty two-door styling most of its underpinning came from Mundane Ford saloon cars and the most popular engines were asthmatic straight sixes. A 289 cubic inch(4.7L) V8 was sold with up to 271 HP  The Shelby gt350 versions of this early cars got collectors really fired up with printed in trademark Wimbledon white with blue stripes along the side panels. A powerspike  to 306 horsepower the car featured a sign exiting exhaust system, updated brakes and suspension and had a spare wheel mounted where the rear seat was meant making it eligible for the sports car racing.

It arrived in 1968 at the peak of the muscle car era and included an L88 big block engine option designed primarily for racing . The 427 cubic inch(7.0 l) V8 had an advertised horsepower of 430,but many believe production models actially escaped from the factory with an upwards of 550 horsepower. Only a hundred examples were built in 1964.
9:2015 DODGE CHALLENGER HELLCAT.
In the muscle car era nothing is compared to this beast. If we thought the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was over-the-top with 580 horsepower or the Ford mustang GT500 was outrageous with 650 horsepower then the 707 horsepower pumped out by the 6.2 l 'hemi' V8 engine Dodge Challenger hellcat is simply shocking. This means it has more power than many supercars and with the option of paddle shifted eight-speed auto gearbox the hellcat races to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Dodge made a limited run Challenger 'Demon' which produces 829 horsepower. To make the most power out of it the Demon was supplied with huge drag racing inspired tires and two keys one for Normal driving and the other for maximum speed.

10:1971 PLYMOUTH 'HEMI' CUDA.
The polymorph barracuda was produced a couple of weeks before the Ford mustang in 1964. It featured sporty styling and was affordable but remained in the more popular Ford's shadow. A part, that is, from the legendary hemi-powered CUDA model which is one of the most desirable mucle car build from the classic era. Introduced in 1970 the hemi CUDA featured a 426 cubic inch (7.20 l) V8 producing 425 horsepower and was good for 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. It looked good  with a range of cartoonish colours and a shaker Hood scoop walking through the bonnet to help force air into the engine. The model was withdrawn in 1971 after just 115 examples had been made because polymouth didn't want to strangle its legendary hemi V8 to meet the new emissions regulations. Nowadays the hemi CUDA is highly collectible of course with the rarest convertible version selling for millions of Dollars.
